From High Street to High School

Remember when you were told that you couldn’t break a promise? Well, at DUC we made a promise that we absolutely pledge to keep but in order to keep it, we need YOUR help.

How? I hear you ask.

This is how. For every DUC bag sold either online or on the high street we provide medical and educational support to some of the poorest children in Vietnam through our charity partner- the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation.

Imagine this scenario next time you are perusing the DUC collection…

If the classic DUC bag takes your fancy and you head to the checkout- real or virtual, this is what happens. We get notified on our system that another DUC bag has been sold and after doing our signature happy dance, we get word to our factory in Ho Chi Minh city to get another school kit ready. Each kit is lovingly packed with all the back-to-school essentials every child heading off to primary school in September. Each August we present the foundation with lots of shiny new blue backpacks, packed full of pens, pencils, notebooks, pencil sharpeners and erasers. 

Although, primary education in Vietnam is free, families struggle to get the necessary stationary staples together for their children and often this struggle is a barrier to children actually attending school, meaning that they enter the workforce at a shockingly young age. This is where you and your DUC bag comes in, because for every DUC bag sold, we get to provide the materials to send another child to school- hence the happy dance!

So between us all, we can help break the poverty cycle, one bag at a time.
